The Russian military has brought ammunition from the 1950s to Kherson Oblast in order to mine the occupied territory.

Details: According to Ukrainian intelligence, a convoy of Russian military trucks with mines made in the 1950s arrived in the occupied territory. The ammunition was stored in warehouses in Rostov Oblast in Russia and prepared for destructive use.
Having appropriated funds intended for mine disposal, the Russian command sent ammunition to the front.
When trying to set up mine barriers, several sappers from the battalion-tactical group of the 7 Military Base of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District (unit 09332) have already been injured by these munitions. The military leadership classified this incident as an accident.
