CHATHAM – Residents of all ages are invited to join Rutgers Geology Museum Director Lauren Neitzke Adamo virtually on her trip aboard a research cruise this June.
The program, offered by the museum to Chatham area citizens through the Library of the Chathams at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 6 and at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 10, will explore what it is like to live and work on the R/V Atlantis research ship off the coast of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia.
Adamo will be collecting sediment cores from the ocean floor there and will be joined by Rutgers University graduate student and museum tour guide Ria Sarka. Adamo and Sarka will talk about the deep-sea coring taking place offshore Nova Scotia and New Jersey as part of the “PUFINS: Coring for Climate” project and participants will have the chance to ask them and the rest of the scientists and technical crew questions.
Registration is required to attend the program on one or both days and can be done by visiting https://tinyurl.com/ypef8bax.
