Victory Announces Smokey Lithium Drill Program Results For Phase One, Including Lithium Values Up To 1270 Ppm – Investing News Network

VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / May 31st, 2022 / Victory Resources Corporation (CSE:VR)(FWB:VR61)(OTC PINK:VRCFF) ("Victory" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Company's exploration team has received lab results from its phase one, three of 15-hole drill program and as a result of its analysis has staked additional ground based on its geologic model of the target lithium deposit.
"The Victory exploration team has advanced the Smokey Lithium property substantially through the analysis of lab results, and upon those strong results through the additional staking which was conducted for competitive reasons to protect the Company's interests," said Mr. Mark Ireton, Victory President, and CEO. "The Company's exploration team has advanced this property based on its theory that a significant lithium deposit is buried at depth along the adjacent Jindalee boundary margins nearest to the fault line. We want our shareholders to understand that of the three holes, one had impressive lithium values, and the other two provided important information as to the potential location and boundaries of a Li deposit. In total, the drill results from all three holes guided the additional staking so that the Company can continue to define what it believes is a significant lithium deposit buried at depth."
Phase One Drill Program Results and Analysis Highlights
Overview
Victory executed an initial program of three drill holes with the goal aimed at locating lithium-bearing clays, similar to what has been discovered at surface by Jindalee, the neighboring property.
A northeast/southwest oriented fault becomes obscure on either end as it trends into Victory's property. Victory's exploration team theorizes that an extension of the lithium bearing clays, identified by Jindalee, would likely exist under the Victory property.
Summary
Victory's Phase One drilling program produced favorable results. This initial drill program was designed to look at a wider area of the property, measure the normal fault's displacement, and prove lithium deposits in the subsurface.
Three holes were completed as previously announced: Holes 05, 09, and 15.

Victory Resources (CSE:VR) is an international mining company working to grow a portfolio of gold, silver and precious metals opportunities. The company is currently developing a pair of projects located in safe and stable mining jurisdictions in Canada, including its flagship Hammond Reef South project located in Ontario. As part of its acquisition strategy, Victory Resources is focused on identifying and acquiring projects that are conducive to mining and benefit from both existing infrastructure and government support. Both the company’s flagship Hammond Reef South project and its Mal-Wen gold project also offer the potential for year-round exploration and development.
Total Shares Outstanding: =
Total Reserve: 61,847,132
The Hammond Reef South project adjoins Agnico Eagle Mines’ (TSX:AEM,NYSE:AEM) Hammond Reef property and is located only three kilometers south of the Hammond Reef Deposit, a large and low-grade gold deposit that hosts open-pit measured and indicated mineral resources estimated at 208 million tonnes grading 0.67 g/t gold. Victory Resources believes there is the possibility that Hammond Reef South could contain extensions of the Hammond Reef zone or similar structures. The company has begun a 2020 exploration program at Hammond Reef South that is expected to include prospecting and mapping of anomalous trends previously identified by Osisko Mining (TSX:OSK). The data from this exploration program is expected to help define further drill targets.
In addition to Victory Resources’ Hammond Reef South project, the company is also working to explore its Mal-Wen project, located in South-central British Columbia. The Mal-Wen project comprises six land claims totaling 1,143.58 hectares that have shown various types of mineralization, including copper-gold veins, copper skarn, stockwork mineralization and hydrothermal breccias.
Victory Resources has targeted projects in both British Columbia and Ontario due to the provinces’ friendly mining policies and the potential to conduct exploration year-round. According to the Fraser Institute’s 2019 Survey of Mining Companies, Ontario ranked as the 16th best jurisdiction in the world when it comes to investment attractiveness, while British Columbia was recognized as the 19th most favorable jurisdiction. Moving forward, Victory Resources intends to pursue strategic acquisitions that fit this profile, specifically those that allow for year-round exploration and development.

Victory Resources acquired the Hammond Reef South property in August 2020 via an option agreement, giving the company complete control of the project. Under the terms of the agreement, Abitibi Royalties has retained a 2 percent net smelter royalty on the project, with the expectation that Victory Resources makes cash payments totaling C$275,000 and spends C$550,000 in exploration during the first three years of ownership.
The Hammond Reef South property is located in Northwestern Ontario and adjoins Agnico Eagle’s Hammond Reef project, which contains an open-pit measured and indicated mineral resource of 208 million tonnes grading 0.67 g/t gold with an open-pit inferred mineral resource of 0.5 million tonnes grading 0.74 g/t gold. Hammond Reef South is situated in the Wabigoon subprovince of the Superior Province of the Canadian Shield.
In August 2020, Victory Resources announced an exploration program to be conducted at Hammond Reef South that will include an extensive soil survey, mapping and magnetometer surveys. The company hopes to put this information towards a drill program in 2020, pending the appropriate permits. Victory Resources has engaged Clark Exploration of Thunder Bay to complete the proposed work program.
Victory Resources began the first phase of exploration at Hammond Reef South in September 2020. The company intends to continue prospecting and mapping along anomalous trends that have previously been identified by Osisko Mining. Moving forward, Victory Resources and its exploration team are focused on defining a gold trend at Hammond Reef South similar to Agnico Eagle’s Hammond Reef project, which adjoins Hammond Reef South.
Victory Resources’ flagship Mal-Wen property comprises six land claims that are wholly owned by Victory Resources. The land claims cover approximately 1,143.58 hectares in South-central British Columbia, located approximately 30 kilometers southeast of Merritt. The property can be accessed via road by taking highway 97C southeast to the Loon Lake Road Exit, which connects to the logging road network and the property.
Victory Resources has established an exploration target at Mal-Wen that is an alkalic porphyry with similar age and mineralization as the Afton and Copper Mountain deposits, which are located nearby. Like Afton and Copper Mountain, Mal-Wen occurs within the Nicole Group of rocks and is found along the same trend.
Victory Resources believes alkalic porphyry deposits such as that found at Mal-Wen have significant potential for a number of reasons, including their ability to form larger copper deposits compatible with open-pit mining. These deposits have also been found to be rich in gold relative to calc-alkalic porphyry deposits and are often lower in sulfides.
Copper mineralization has been found across the Mal-Wen property, including the HN-Wen, Mal, Malachite7 and Echo showings. Various types of mineralization have been identified on the Mal-Wen property including copper-gold veins, copper skarn, stockwork mineralization, hydrothermal breccias and possible propylitic and localized potassium alternations. A total of six drill programs and a number of geochemical and geophysical surveys have been conducted at Mal-Wen, targeting the various styles of copper-gold mineralization. The Wen Prospect vein, a chalcopyrite-bearing quartz vein with erratic, locally high gold values, returned up to 16.6 g/t gold.
Moving forward, Victory Resources is focused on the under-explored areas between the Mal and Wen deposits while also working to assess the possibility of extending the northern boundary of the Wen Zone.

Victory Resources Corporation (CSE:VR) (FWB:VR61) (OTC PINK:VRCFF) ("Victory" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Company's has acquired 100% interest in the Saguenay Nickel Project in Quebec, a property with historic Nickel and Copper grab sample and drilling results
"We are excited to add this property to the Victory portfolio, noting that our team has analyzed the historical grab sample and drill results, along with the overall Saguenay Gneiss Complex, and are very encouraged about the prospects for this acquisition," said Mr. Mark Ireton, Victory Resources President and CEO.
The claims are located approximately 10 km to the south of the town of Saguenay. The property is made up of 5 claims totalling 286.32 ha. It is underlain by mafic to ultramafic rocks enclosed in the Saguenay gneissic complex. A historic grab sample returned up to 3.41% Ni, 1.14% Cu, 1.2 ppm Ag and 0.13% Co. In 1959, 4 out of 7 holes drilled, on Victory Resources ground intersected gabbroic and peridotite rocks, hole number 4 returned 4 feet of 1.06% Nickel, and 0.21% copper, hole # 3intersected 10 feet averaging 0.49% Nickel and 0.03% copper, hole # 2 intersected 13 feet averaging 0.22% Nickel and 0.04% copper, and a fourth hole, the number 1 intersected 12 feet averaging 0.23% nickel and 0.06% copper and 3 feet averaging 0.38% nickel and 0.11% copper.
The four holes were drilled northwards to the outcrop area, with hole 4 intersecting zone as mapped in the historical report GM 08808.
The Saguenay Gneiss Complex has abundant mafic and ultramafic rocks and anorthosites, which are commonly associated with Ni-Cu-PGE sulfide deposits (e.g., Voisey's Bay, Labrador; Thompson, Manitoba). The presence of ore grade Ni-Cu samples at surface and in drill core on this property, and the absence of modern exploration is highly encouraging. A work plan for the 2022 field season will focus on detailed geological mapping, bedrock and till sampling across the property, to determine the scope of advanced exploration, and a potential drill program.
Terms of the Agreement for 100% are $10,000 and 2.5 million common shares payable on Regulatory and Exchange approval.

Victory Resources Corporation (CSE:VR)(FWB:VR61)(OTC PINK:VRCFF) ("Victory" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Company's exploration team has completed its drilling program on the Company's Smokey Lithium Property in Nevada
As previously noted, the Company's initial 3 of 15-hole drilling exploration aims to prove its geologic concept, specifically, to test along the Jindalee boundary margins, nearest to the fault line to reduce the depths required to reach clays and attempt to capture the full thickness of the claystone, in order to discover the grade and thickness of an intercept.
As no drilling has occurred prior to this program on Smokey Lithium, is it important to sample each hole extensively until basic geochemical data has been acquired.
Drill Program Approach and Initial Highlights
Overview:
Victory executed an initial program of 3 drill holes with the goal aimed at locating lithium bearing clays, similar to what has been discovered at surface by Jindalee, the neighboring property.
A northeast/southwest oriented fault becomes obscure on either end as it trends into Victory's property. Victory's exploration team theorizes that an extension of the lithium bearing clays, identified by Jindalee, would likely exist under the Victory property. However, pending lab results, it is unknown as to the depths required to intercept this possible lithium enriched clay unit.
The target of the drilling is the regionally mineralized Esmeralda formation sediments which underlie the property. These sediments are composed of a complex suite of lithologies ranging from sandstones, conglomerates, claystones and volcanic ash rich units. Faulting has occurred displacing these sedimentary units and later variably filled with quaternary alluvial materials, namely sands and gravels. The contact between silty, sandy gravel units which are overburden and those belonging to the underlying Esmeralda Formation is not easily seen in the core, further detailed logging is planned once lithium assays have been received.
The results given in the initial 3-hole program yielded variably results and are summarized below:
Summary:
The goal was to identify lithium bearing, Esmeralda clays within an obscure, alluvial covered surface. Further, adding to the complexity of the task is faulting with unknown displacement. The first 3 holes essentially provides the team with a look into the subsurface. It has been learned that the overburden is relatively superficial cover but is variable in thickness.
Below the recent age cover gravels, thick sections of Esmeralda Formation have been intercepted. The Esmeralda stratigraphy logged from the drill core displays sedimentary units including well developed claystones, mudstones and clay, silt and sand matrix conglomerates.
Further drilling will be required to properly map the subsurface geology of the Esmeralda Formation lithologic package. In particular Victory is focused on mapping the near surface distribution of well mineralized Esmeralda claystones previously identified on the neighboring Jindalee property.
The Company's exploration team is very optimistic, primarily given the logged geologic results of the SL-21-05 drill hole. It demonstrated a thick sequence of claystone/siltstone with minimal overburden. More data is required to address questions as a result of the drilling and observations of the exploration team. Questions include defining the strike and dip orientation of the target, regionally lithium mineralized Esmeralda age section which underlies the property. This will allow for construction of an early-stage geologic model and help guide targets for additional drill programs.
Upon receiving the results of the first drilling phase, the Company remains positioned to carry out additional drilling if the lab data warrants it.
A total of 151 samples have been submitted to ALS for assay work. 4-foot sample intervals were used within the Esmeralda intersections. Further, QA/QC protocols were put into place whereas standards and blanks were inserted randomly within the sample chain, 1 per each 10 samples. ALS Lab results are anticipated to be received in the next couple weeks.

Victory Resources Corporation (CSE:VR)(FWB:VR61)(OTC PINK:VRCFF) ("Victory" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Company's exploration team has advanced its drilling program on the Company's Smokey Lithium Property in Nevada, where its exploration team has identified drill targets that will determine whether a relationship exists to the high Li zone on the adjacent Jindalee property
Progress to date indicates significant potential lithium-bearing claystone in the first of three holes drilled, based on visual assessment from the exploration team, with samples now being prepared and sent to ALS for assay.
As no drilling has occurred prior to this program on Smokey Lithium it isimportant to sample each hole extensively until basic geochemical data has been acquired.
Highlights from Initial Hole
"Results from the first hole have guided decision making on the second and third hole locations, and the Company will provide progress on the overall drilling program as we progress," said Mr. Mark Ireton, Victory President and CEO. "Preliminary indications, upon visual analysis, are encouraging in terms of the clay intersects and information our geo team is analyzing toward the proof of theory around the potential deposit at Smokey Lithium."

Smokey Lithium is located 16 miles (25) km northwest of Cypress' Clayton Valley Lithium Project and 22 miles (35 km) southwest of American Lithium Corporation's Tonopah Lithium Claims Property in southwest Nevada. Esmeralda County, Nevada is a prolific region for lithium clay deposits, (Noram, Cypress, American Lithium, Spearmint, Enertopia, and Jindalee).
The Smokey Lithium property is located 22 miles (35 km) west of Tonopah, Nevada on the western margin of the Basin and Range province. The property's geology consists of Miocene – Pliocene tuff deposits, claystones, and siliciclastic beds (Esmeralda Formation) with overlying younger alluvium deposits and desert pavement. The claystone, which can carry high lithium concentrations, is observed at surface as highly weathered light grey to tan mounds of unconsolidated clay from 0.10 – 1.50 meters thick. The flat lying nature of the claystones, together with the frequent occurrence of transported cover requires drilling to fully validate and assess Smokey Lithium's the potential as indicated by surface sampling.

May 31, 2022 TheNewswire – CALGARY, ALBERTA CMX Gold & Silver Corp. ( CSE:CXC ) ; (CNSX:CXC.CN); ( OTC:CXXMF ) ("CMX" or the "Company") announces that it has signed an agreement with Sulphide Remediation Inc. ("SRI") ( https:www.sulphide-remediation.com ), an affiliate of ABH Engineering Inc. of Surrey, B.C., a firm specializing in mineral processing ( https:www.abhengineeringinc.com ).  SRI utilizes precision ore sorting technology to high-grade mine stockpiles of unprocessed rock to enhance the grade of material delivered to a toll mill.  Dual Energy X-Ray Transmission technologies differentiate between rocks based on small fluctuations in density profiles and are effective at removing sulphides and concentrating valuable metals.  The sorted rock can be treated at existing millssmelters where valuable metals will be extracted and sulphides will be safely handled. SRI has some of the world's leading experts in crushing, screening and ore sorting.
Pursuant to the agreement with CMX, SRI will take samples from the Clayton stockpile with no upfront cost to CMX.  The samples will be shipped to a laboratory for analysis and process testing.  The testing program will inform SRI as to the best ore sorting process for the Company's stockpile.  Jan Alston, President & CEO of CMX commented: "Ever since we completed an evaluation program of the Clayton Silver Mine stockpile in 2014/15, the results suggested there should be significant value realized from processing the material.  Higher metals prices today add even more value to the aboveground material. We simply needed to find the right partner with the best technology for this opportunity."
CMX's historic Clayton Silver Mine stockpile is estimated to contain greater than 500,000 tonnes of metal-bearing rock. In the 2014 evaluation program, over 3,000 kilograms of sample material were collected from test locations selected to ensure representative results.  Analysis of the samples confirmed the presence of gold in each sample.  In particular, assays confirmed gold values up to 2.84 gm/t with an average of 0.80 gm/t for the 16 locations comprised of the initial suite of samples. Statistical averages of the 16 locations of the mine stockpile sampling program were: gold – 0.80 gms/t; silver – 24.31 gms/t; lead – 0.44%; zinc – 0.27%.
Subject to positive results from analysis of the samples taken from the stockpile and confirmation of suitability of the material for the ore sorting process, SRI at its cost will construct and deliver an optimal ore sorting system to the Clayton Mine site.  The system will be capable of processing from 3,000 tonnes to 4,000 tonnes per day. SRI will manage all aspects of the stockpile processing program.  After deducting operating expenses from the revenue received for the processed stockpile material from the toll mill or smelter, the net profits will be shared 50:50 between CMX and SRI.  Mr. Alston stated: "Positive results will position CMX to generate cash flow in 2023."
About the Clayton Silver Project
CMX's 100%-owned Clayton Silver Property is located in the mining-friendly State of Idaho, USA. The property comprises approximately 684 acres in Custer County in south-central Idaho, including the former Clayton silver-lead-zinc mine. The Clayton Mine was developed on eight levels to a depth of 1,100 feet below surface and is comprised of approximately 19,690 feet of underground development. Two major ore bodies were partially mined: the "South Ore Body" and the "North Ore Body".
The recorded production from the Clayton Mine included 7,031,110 oz silver, 86,771,527 lbs lead, 28,172,211 lbs zinc, 1,664,177 lbs copper, and minor amounts of gold from an estimated 2,145,652 tonnes of ore mined between 1934 and 1985.  Very little exploration has been carried out previously on the Clayton Silver Property. Significant potential is demonstrated in hole 1501-A, drilled in the mid-1960's, which penetrated the mineralized zone at 1,425 feet.  At that depth, the hole intercepted 22 feet of 4.07 oz Ag/t, 5.75% lead and 5.37% zinc (note: true width is unknown).

Image 1: Location of Zinc smelter in north America and transportation routes
The concentrate produced at Superior Lake can access smelters using existing rail and road infrastructure to North American smelters as well as smelters in Asia, using the Vancouver port. The Thunder Bay port, which is located 214km from the mine gate, will provide access to smelters in Europe. The Project's unique location and access to the Canadian rail and highway network will provide access to Canadian port systems, both East and West coasts, allowing easy access to major smelters around the globe.
Both the Zinc and Copper concentrates are well understood given the Project successfully operated for a decade before closing in 1998 due to sustained low zinc prices. This historical production as well as additional metallurgical test work carried out by SGS Lakefield in Canada (Superior Zinc and Copper Project Feasibility Study N.I. 43-101 compatible, DRA – October 2021), provides detailed information and certainty to these groups. Detailed information regarding the concentrate grades and quality can be found in Table 1 below.

FPX Nickel Corp. (TSXV: FPX) (" FPX " or the " Company ") is pleased to report the results of new testing which continues to demonstrate the potential for enhanced carbon capture and storage ( "CCS" ) in tailings at its Baptiste Project (the " Project ") in the Decar Nickel District in central British Columbia . These laboratory tests, conducted by researchers from the University of British Columbia ( "UBC" ) funded by FPX and the Government of Canada were conducted on tailings representative of different operating scenarios at Baptiste, and demonstrate the ability of these representative tailings to sequester CO 2 into a permanent mineralized form, thereby advancing the Project's potential to become the nickel industry's first carbon-neutral or carbon-negative operation.
Cautionary Statement: The test results described herein are preliminary in nature and may not be representative of conditions or results in an operating environment, particularly as it pertains to the representativeness of mineralization, moisture content, changes in weather conditions, process water chemistry and tailings emplacement configuration, including the rate at which tailings are covered with fresh material, among other parameters. There is no certainty that the results reported herein will be realized in an operating environment. Further studies are recommended to expand the scale of testing to better understand the potential for carbon sequestration to be realized in an operating environment.
"Since 2016, FPX has been a leader in defining the opportunity for large-scale permanent CCS in the mining industry," commented Martin Turenne , the Company's President and CEO. "These new results were achieved using representative tailings material generated from the 2021 metallurgical testing pilot plant program, highlighting our interest in moving beyond idealized experimental conditions to advance the scientific understanding of carbon mineralization in a practical, real-world context. With further work required to estimate the likely quantum of carbon sequestration in an operational setting, we continue to advance toward our objective of developing Baptiste as the nickel industry's first carbon-neutral or carbon-negative operation."
These laboratory tests build on more than a decade of research to maximize the reaction between CO 2 and brucite (magnesium hydroxide), a highly CO 2 -reactive mineral form of magnesium hydroxide present in the Baptiste mine tailings, as opposed to serpentine, olivine and other silicates which are the common constituents of other nickel and mafic rock tailings. In a natural process called carbon mineralization, CO 2 reacts with brucite, and to a very much less extent with serpentine minerals in the Baptiste tailings and waste rock, binding the CO 2 in a benign, solid magnesium carbonate which is stable on a geological time scale.
Previous laboratory and field tests conducted by UBC researchers have confirmed the ability of Baptiste tailings material to mineralize CO 2 when exposed to air (see the Company's news releases dated February 16 and June 9, 2021 ) and when subjected to direct injection of simulated flue gas containing 10% CO 2 (see the Company's news release dated November 2 , 2021).
The laboratory-scale tests summarized herein were designed to assess the sequestration potential by injection of CO 2 gas into material representative of three types of tailings samples, as described below and shown in Figure 1. Both tailings storage scenarios are representative of tailings produced at the Project's envisioned primary grind P 80 = 300 µm.
Figure 1 – Conceptual Rendering of Tailings Storage Facilities Showing Tailings Material Types (CNW Group/FPX Nickel Corp.)
Injection experiments were prepared by placing the three tailings samples in vertical pipes which were injected with simulated flue gas containing 10% CO 2 at a rate of 4 mL per minute over 14 days.  The experiments were conducted on Baptiste pilot plant tailings material, which was generated from drill core. The experimented were completed in batches weighing approximately 0.5 kilograms, with moisture content ranging from 10 to 14%, and with brucite content of 1.3 to 1.6%, consistent with the estimated 1.5% average brucite content of the Baptiste deposit.
The key findings of the experiment are as follows:
These positive findings provide the basis for additional testing to expand the understanding and optimization of parameters affecting carbon mineralization in the Baptiste tailings, including the impacts of scale, grain size, porosity, permeability, moisture content, temperature, method of injection and concentration of CO 2 , and time.  Future test work will underpin the Company's efforts to optimize these parameters in the Baptiste development plan. These results also open the possibility of mineralizing CO 2 ex-situ in waste rock, in-situ by injection of CO 2 into the host rock, or ex-situ injection of CO 2 into associated carbon-depleted waters drawn from host rocks in areas of the Decar Nickel District, or in rocks of similar type and mineralogy elsewhere in B.C. and beyond.
Samples of the test material were submitted for analysis of total inorganic carbon ( "TIC " ) at the beginning and the end of the experiments, with the increase in TIC representing the amount of CO 2 captured during the experiment.
As previously disclosed, the Company is expanding the size and scope of carbon sequestration testing, with the recent initiation of two direct air capture experiments in the third quarter of 2021:
The Company will report the results of these experiments upon the conclusion of testing in the third or fourth quarter of 2022.
Dr. Peter Bradshaw , P. Eng., FPX's Qualified Person under NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical content of this news release.
The Company's Decar Nickel District claims cover 245 km 2 of the Mount Sidney Williams ultramafic/ophiolite complex, 90 km northwest of Fort St. James in central British Columbia . The district is a two-hour drive from Fort St. James on a high-speed logging road.
Decar hosts a greenfield discovery of nickel mineralization in the form of a naturally occurring nickel-iron alloy called awaruite (Ni 3 Fe), which is amenable to bulk-tonnage, open-pit mining. Awaruite mineralization has been identified in four target areas within this ophiolite complex, being the Baptiste Deposit, and the B, Sid and Van targets, as confirmed by drilling, petrographic examination, electron probe analyses and outcrop sampling on all four targets. Since 2010, approximately US $28 million has been spent on the exploration and development of Decar.
Of the four targets in the Decar Nickel District, the Baptiste Deposit, which was initially the most accessible and had the biggest known surface footprint, has been the focus of diamond drilling since 2010, with a total of 99 holes and 33,700 m of drilling completed. The Sid target was tested with two holes in 2010 and the B target had a single hole drilled in 2011; all three holes intersected nickel-iron alloy mineralization over wide intervals with DTR nickel grades comparable to the Baptiste Deposit. The Van target was not drill-tested at that time as bedrock exposures in the area were very poor prior to more recent logging activity. In 2021, the Company executed a maiden drilling program at Van, which has returned promising results comparable with the strongest results at Baptiste.
FPX Nickel Corp. is focused on the exploration and development of the Decar Nickel District, located in central British Columbia , and other occurrences of the same unique style of naturally occurring nickel-iron alloy mineralization known as awaruite. For more information, please view the Company's website at www.fpxnickel.com or contact Martin Turenne , President and CEO, at (604) 681-8600 or ceo@fpxnickel.com .
